Central Insurance Agency was incorporated in 1970 and operated from its old North High Street location until 1994.  In 1989, Loring "Rich" Richardson purchased Central Insurance Agency from Leo King, the agency's original founder and president.  Rich merged the operation of the agency with Richardson & Associates, which he had started in 1975, and moved the office to its present location on Sinclair Road.

Rich is the owner and principal agent.  He began his career in 1971 selling life insurance door to door for Prudential.  In 1975, he founded Richardson & Associates and became affiliated with the Erie Insurance Group.  In 1989, he acquired ownership of Central Insurance Agency, Inc. and merged the operations of the two agencies into one office.

Rich is a graduate of the Life Underwriters Training Council, member of the Professional Insurance Agents of Ohio and a Certified Professional Insurance Agent.  He retired from the United States Army Reserve in 1993.  Rich is a life member of the V. F. W., AmVets, and a Past Commander of the Worthington American Legion.  He currently lives in Gahanna with his wife.  rich@centralinsagency.com

Dawn is our Agency Service Representative and joined the agency in
1989 when it was acquired by her father.  She is a licensed agent and is actively involved in the day-to-day office operations.  Dawn is also a Certified Insurance Service Representative.   She resides in Columbus with her husband, son and daughter. dawn@centralinsagency.com
